As opposed to some of the vague and half truth ads out there this is ok by me.Cuts down on the picture collectors and payment requirements are spelled out in easy to understand language.Vehicle is being sold complete so the "can I get this part" guys are not a problem.I'm with Jerry on this one.

A little tip from one business owner to another: probably not a good attitude to have if you want customers to buy stuff from you[}:)]

:) Let's see: The successful bidder gets to wire transfer the money to the seller's bank in Vermont. Then, and only then, will the seller be told where in New Mexico the car is located along I-40, and be given a number of the person there to contact. Cool!
(At least with an opening bid of $1,000 expected for the parts car 1962 Lark 4-door in the auction, [xx(] the issue of money transfer and car pick-up location is a moot point.) BP

Contrary to what CSI tries to portray, most of the taping is actually done in Canada (BC I believe) rather than Vegas. However, with the recent surge in the value of the loonie, some of that production may be coming back to the states. This is why you always see it raining in the desert on this show.

OK, I know you guys are kidding; but in case you're not, you missed his message- so here's the translation:

Do not ask for more pictures, These examples are represented as honestly as possible.

Translation: You WILL pay 5-10 times the actual value for my car, while getting VERY little info, and LIKE IT!!

If uncomfortable with the presentation “as-is” please do not bid.

Translation: Like I said, you're not worth the effort it would take to give you info on what you're getting, so if you don't like it, LUMP IT!!

No parts will be sold separate from the presented parts vehicle. Don’t ask, I will not reply.

Translation: If you would dare suggest I sell you a part, you're an IDIOT, and not worthy of a reply!!

This is straight forward business, please don’t .waist my time.

Translation: I want money, but HATE dealing with people- so PAY AND SHARRUPPA YOU FACE!!

For those who might not have experience in this area- showing hostility toward potential customers is NOT a good sales technique;)

Heh, you are probably right. After dealing, face to face, with every kind of kook you can imagine for 20 years, and becoming known as the biggest a**hole in the auto accessory business in the state of Jawja, I was running off more customers than I was aquiring. I said "I quit" and Robert said he would run the store in lieu of of paying rent for the StreetRod garage. All I do now is the paperwork. Best deal I've ever made.
I like having a store on ebay. People can come in and look around and don't ask stupid questions like "Will this sbc oil pan fit on my 302 Ford engine?" gimme a break.
Funny how you quit worring about stupid people's feelings the older you get.

This guy lives in VERMONT, couldn't be much farther from New Mexico were "his" cars are, has 4 sales since June of '07, Now that's someone you just can't wait to send your $1000.00 to with no clue where the car is!:D:D

When looking at his "other items" I see there is a 60's "Duece" Station Wagon, which he too lazy too find out exactly WHAT it is, but it's probably a '63 or '64 Chevy II 4dr. Wagon, anyway 2 of the pics also show a '54 Stude. 4dr. Sedan that is in the same NM field, but not advertised, it's in a whole lot better shape than the '62![:0]

He, he! that ad also shows a pic of Him? blowing his own Horn!! :D

The dominance of eBay helps it to present the full range of humanity from saint to curmudgen.

I've bid on more than a few motorcycles, cars, and parts. Often I do have questions, an amazing number of sellers leave out pertinent details - or just plain take useless pics.

Some of the replies I have received were truly eye popping and bizzare. One guy replied to my request that he show a pic of the other side of the car with: "you will bid on this without asking questions - don't bug me". My reply: "no problem, and when the phone doesn't ring you will know it was me".

I'll bet if you went to Google Earth, and cruised along I-40, you could spot this yard.

Agreed he is asking a thousand bucks for a $200 car. Even that is dubious. I might give $200 for it if I could get it in less than a day.

It reminds me of a bad kindnap movie..."Wire me the money, THEN I'll tell you where the Stude is."

I wouldn't wire any money to a [u]jerk</u> like that. Why does he expect us to trust him?
He won't tell us where the freakin' car is? Is he afraid we'll drive halfway across the county with a wrecker and snatch it out of the yard?
High security for a Duesenberg, sure. For a sun-baked Studebaker parts car? Get serious dude.

Customer service it seems, is dead.

[b]BTW: Lest we get too smug...based on recent emails asking about his products, I'm not too thrilled with customer service from a certain Stude parts supplier either.

With the "no more pictures" clause and the "no questions answered" clause, it isn't even possible to tell if this car has an engine/tranny, etc. (or did I miss something?)

Waist is the part of the body that your belt goes around."

The guy IS too wordy for a Vermont resident. Reminds me of my favorite Calvin Coolidge story. Silent Cal was born in Vermont.

A woman seated next to President Coolidge at a White House luncheon looked at Calvin and gushed, "Oh Mr. President! I bet my friend Helen I could get you to say more than two words!" Calvin looked at the woman and replied, "You lose."

Like I said. The guy was too wordy for a Vermonter!
