  • New Pics of the 56 chop top Wagon

    Good news, Bad news.
Well, the good is we finally had a few minutes to play. To compliment the 2-1/2 coils cut out of the front springs, we installed the 3" lowering blocks in the back. Now its getting close to how we want the stance to be. The rear could come down a smidge more, but for now, its lookin nice.
The Bad... well, we got it running and there's a little, tiny sound coming out of the engine that should not be there. It sorta sounds like a midget got in there and is banging on his bass drum every time I rev the engine. I'm sure its not a rod knock. I'm very sure its not a rod knock. I would bet my life on the fact that its not..... well maybe I won't go that far.... I'm pretty sure its a rod knock.
The final on the house is almost done, so then we can move it into the garage. Then we'll do the engine transplant.

If it is an automatic it could be a cracked/broken flywheel, or a loose flywheel.

        Killer stance!

On the more practical side, how much suspension travel remains?

Yeah, Jack... not much, but thats not the point right now. Itll be tough to maneuver speed bumps and such, but it has air bags in its future. We're toying with the looks for now, not worrying too much about silly things like scraping the underbelly on every pebble we pass over.

                  The wheel offset is perfect.
The "fins" are removable...right ? Might enhance the "low" look if they were gone.

                  Looken good...

                    Duuuuuude! That's Just SICK!

Now just get the windows chopped down a bit to even it out.

                    Then just go MURDER black!

No chop necessary. The Lark roof skin accomplished what he was wanting. Great project!

Looking great!! Keep the pics coming. Re the motor noise, how low down does it sound? Years ago I had slight wrist pin noise in a Pontiac 400cid and it never did worsen over time and was never a problem.

The sedan delivery was an option, but with the 60 glass in the back, I think the lines will improve the "forward" look we're going for.
