Studebaker Avanti mentioned today on Sirius radio 60s on 6

I listen to this Sirius channel a lot. Early afternoon today, between songs the DJ, said in 1963 you could go to the Chevy dealer and see the split window Corvette. Then something like "Or the Studebaker dealership to see the similar but a bit more squarish Avanti, both very cool cars".

I think they replay some of the Saturday broadcast on Sunday. In looking at the schedule it will likely be the 10AM show which is titled "60s Satellite Survey,-1963"

I've driven both. By comparison the 63 Corvette is crap in my opinion. My 63 R2 was faster and safer and more comfortable by a long shot (!!!!) than its GM rival. A friend of mine had a 63 Stingray and boasted about it till I challenged him to a shootout on I78 around 2AM. He lost and never boasted again. I don't think he's my friend anymore either. Eehhh......
