View Full Version : 1953 K large parts for shipping

10-13-2015, 02:40 PM
I have some K body parts and a intact original cloth seat from a 53 Hardtop Champion. I have never shipped large items like a hood or quarter panels. What is the best way to package and ship? Is there a limit to what Greyhound will accept?

Let me know then I will throw out all the stuff I have with prices after I know.

Thanks Guys and Gals

The limit is the size (width) of the two Left Side Cargo Doors on the Busses, and the Weight. It should be on their Website under "Shipping".

UPDATE: Found it:

"The maximum weight per package is 100 pounds. The maximum dimensions that we can accommodate are 30" H x 47" W x 82" L."

I have had good luck with them. Have shipped fenders, a door and a gas tank.

Thanks Pat will look up the site and get an idea on shipping. Then I will post prices. I am thinking for the quarter panels $200.00 each no rust, hood 275, nice straight corners, grill surrounds and bars, 175 each, seat 100 and other parts that I will sell off.

I've sent large parts by Greyhound as well with satisfaction. The only drawback, if that's an issue, is the parts must be picked up at the bus station.

Also sent you an e-mail. Thanks, Steve

As I recall, the longest dimension Greyhound accepts is around 84 inches. I've shipped CK rear quarter panels with them.
