  • Wheels / Tires: Need 15 inch wheels for 64 hawk gt

    Hi Leon Stevens here,
Need a set of 15 inch not too wide rims for my 64 hawk gt.
I rebuilt the engine 289, and my adviser said NOT to lug the engine
during break in of the rings, so I put on 14" rims and small tires
(effectively giving me a 4.11 rear end)
now I would like to go back to my 3.34 rear end with 15inch rims.
and get more speed per rpm.
I have found a few rims that fit in the local area, but on a
balance machine they run out of round by 3/8 or 1/2 inch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Leon
P.S. My oil use went from a quart in 60 miles... to less than 1/2 pint
    in 500 miles.

I have two original 15" 1959 Silver Hawk rims in very nice shape I can let you have for $20 each plus shipping from Texas. They're only 4 1/2" -5" wide I believe.

Out of round, or radial run out? Two different things and radial run out seems much more likely to me.

Sent you another PM to find out if you also wanted the spare rim, it's also in nice condition (3 Total). They area all 4 1/2" wide.

If your Hawk has disc brakes the earlier wheels probably won't work on the front.
