I need some for a motor. Dusty

IIRC, the mid-'62-'64 are the same.

Having said that, in fifty-plus years, stuff has gotten swapped around. Make sure you and the seller know the difference. I've seen early engines come out of late cars, late engines with early rockers; engines with mixed early and late rockers.

What, pray tell, is the difference? How do you identify various ones?

        Thanks, JT

The easy way is to read the cast-in part number. The latest ones would have a seven digit number starting with "15." (15XXXXX). Earlier version would be a six digit number starting with "5." (5XXXXX). If I wasn't feeling lazy I would walk out to the shop and provide the actual numbers.

              Visually...the difference is -

Valve pad tips are oval = EARLY.
Valve pad tips are (more) round = LATE.

Material at the bottom of the rocker is round (has a full radius) = EARLY.
Material at the bottom of the rocker has a big heavy square pad = LATE.

A couple other small differences, that are harder to spot. The above are very easy to notice.
