Gus Mater- Heart Transplant

WEll today Gus took David to the shop so David could steam clean him. From there it was off to Casey's house. Where David proceeded in pulling Gus's heart out. We got alot of parts cleaned and transfered to the old Hawk 289 engine. Had to pull both pans to swap crankshaft bolts. I forgot to take the camera so Saturday I will take some pictures. The engine compartment is getting cleaned up and painted. Found a Crack in the frame that David gets to weld tomorrow. I'll take before and after shots. I also am going by the painters to check on the Prez so I'll have an update on it too. Gus will be feeling his oats by Parade time.

Well today we finished cleaning and tranfering parts from one engine to the other. David Painted the 289 plus under the hood. WE David Bobby and I installed the engine today. FRiday Gus drove over to Casey's on his own power. And today Saturday he drove back home with his new 289 inplace. Just thought we would share. We are taking Sunday off. Enjoy Oh the one picture of the frame is where David welded it it was cracked just thought I would share so those of you with Transtars can check for the same crack.
