  • Interior: SI Elk Vinyl Dye

Has anyone used the Elk vinyl dye that SI offers? Color match? Any experience with wear issues? Any prep issues? Thanks.

Clean, then clean, then clean the surface again before dyeing it. Be sure no residue from the cleaning solution is left behind. I've had good results with Purple Power for heavily soiled areas. I've dyed many interior door panels and seats with lasting results. A clean surface is paramount. As for the color match from SI I have no experience with that. Maybe someone else can give you information on the SI line of dyes on this forum.

Never had a color match issue with SI dyes. As T.J. stated, make sure it is clean. And, I always use a product like SEM Vinyl Prep, and SEM Adhesion Promoter which is available from Eastwood Co. and most body shop supply stores.

I was STUDEBAKER, when STUDEBAKER wasn't "KOOL".
