Transmission / Overdrive: cant find park

Hi, new to Studebakers. Just got a 61 Lark Convertible with a 259. Auto tranny seldom finds park when returning from any position. Any ideas?

Welcome aboard! Linkage adjustment. It's explained in the manual. The shop manual is a must have. It's available from Studebaker International or even cheaper at Rock Auto. It covers 59 thru 64 Larks.

That's a good possibility, too! I didn't hear any mention of engine vibration through the frame so I figured the shift rod might be off a bit.

another possibility is that the parking pawl may be damaged. In my case a good piece of firewood comes in handy....
