      Darryl,

I show as having 6 in inventory, but when I went out to look couldn't find them.

It's been a long day, let me look again tomorrow.

If that's what you call "torsion" spring...then what do you call a "torsion" spring ? Like the ones that hold up the front of 60's and 70's Chryslers.
              Hmmm...

I was thinking the same thing, but when I went to the hardware store and found the perfect door handle spring, it was also labeled a torsion spring, and it has a couple coils and two short arms.

the spring in question is a torsion spring (the spring action is the two lever arms in a twisting action to each other) ... the mopars have torsion bars (the spring action is the twisting action in the bar itself)

From the Wendy's "Where's the Beef" ad from the late 70's (or early 80's ?), it was "torsion barbers for the superspension"....

I have made a couple using wooden clothespin springs. Work terrific!

When you live in the country and it's 30 miles to the closest hardware store one learns to improvise. I call that Jerryrigging.<G>
