:) Avon Indiana SDC / Indy Chapter member Lanny Bertram's factory R2/4-speed 1963 Lark Custom 2-door scored an award at today's Indianapolis Cluster Busters Car Club all-make car show. The show was part of the concluding day of The 2015 Hendricks County 4H Fair.

Here's Lanny and wife Barbara after the awards ceremony:

There was no serious judging or people's choice or anything; club members just walked among the 50-odd cars registered and picked out what they felt were the top half and gave each one a plaque. An additional Best of Show was [deservedly] awarded to a double jet black 1965 Impala SS hardtop with 327/4-speed. Nice car.

Lanny's Lark was built as an R2 / 4-speed without the full Super Package. However, it was built late April 1963 and could have been so equipped, so he added the R2 Grille Badge just for fun. Lanny has massaged the R2 a bit and it runs really well. Ermine White with black & white bucket seat interior.

Lanny and I had the only two Studebakers on the premises ;), stock or modified:

A little warm but a nice day overall. :) (Anyone who doesn't think 1963 Ermine White is a bit creamier than 1964 Astra White can take a gander at the above photo.;))

Congrats again, Lanny (and Barb!); well-played. :!: BP

And your wearing a shirt with a Mustang on it ........

 True, Andrew: I was doing that to help promote the little Lizton IN Community Car Show coming up August 8th.

Lizton is also in Hendricks County; a nice little town deserving of support for the little show they organize every year. Last year, I took my '64 Daytona Convertible to that show and it was well received.

So the T-Shirt was more of an allegiance to our county's car shows than to our favorite marque at those shows. :) BP
