  • Exhaust: Exhaust problem on 1953 starliner

My Dad just bought this car and is finishing the restoration the previous owner started. The previous owner had a Chevy 350 and 350 trans in the car. He didn't have the exhaust on the car when my father bought it from his son. He only had manifolds on the car. The one on the drivers side bank faces towards the front, the passenger bank faces rearward but looks like there is enough room to run the exhaust pipes. Are there any headers that will fit this car and make this job easier ? If not how do others solve this problem? The car has a Hurst front engine mount made for the conversion. Thanks Boe

If the engine is in the car and operable with exhaust manifolds already on it, just bite the bullet and go to a good custom "muffler shop" and have them make up a system starting with the manifolds on the car. 'Far less work and bother than trying to find headers that would work...and you'd still have to have an exhaust system custom fabricated anyway. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.
