  • Mystery Large Studebaker Piston Rings

I wonder what Studebaker would use these large rings? At least you could have a lifetime supply of them.

Only large bore engines were the Big Six at 3.875" and the Detroit Diesel 3-71 and 4-71 at 4.25".

Looks like a winner to me. The label has "Studebaker Aviation Division" along with "Wright" on the box.

        B17 maybe?

The label shows R1820-97 on the right hand side as the contract number. I guess that makes them rings for B17 engines. See the Wikipedia article for R-1820 engine.
            See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_R-1820
