Valve covers are black as well as the air cleaner. Unless you are aiming to show at Pebble Beach, I would paint the metal inserts along the side trim. Anodizing these strips is very expensive and for some shops a specialty due to their size.

Joe look at vintage camper supplies. I have seen some older campers that also had gold anodized trim on them. My Packard Hawk had gold diamond pattern aluminum instead of mylar on the fins. [Yes, the valve covers should be black]

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE AND I WILL FOLLOW YOUR SUGGESTION TO JUST PAINT THE GOLD TRIM RATHER THAN TRYING TO ANODIZE THEM

COULD YOU PLEASE SEND ME SOME PHOTOS OF YOUR ENGINE IN YOUR 58 PACKARD ...send to my email joebetsy6@gmail.com

THANKS !! Joe

Have you tried ordering the trim as N.O.S. pieces? I am currently putting together a set for my fathers 58L.

Chris.

Duplicolor makes a product called Metalcast; it's a spray-on that simulates the anodized look. Take a peek here:
