  • Looking for Small 6 Volt Positive Ground Radio to fit in Glove Box

My friend is looking for a modern small 6 volt radio to fit in his glovebox. I just checked ebay and came up empty. Thans, Tom

Just use a converter and use a 12 volt negative ground radio.

In the '60s, there were some 6V/12V +/- ground radios sold that could be used in English cars, VWs, and older North American cars. All-transistor, too. But, "modern"? I think not. I just scrapped out an old Motorola "fits all" radio that was in the '63 Lark I stripped. Had brackets with studs and large nuts to fit the holes where the control shafts would go on the stock radio, and control shafts in the dial space. It was one of those hybrids, with a transistor audio output, and 12-volt space charge tubes in the front end. The circuit board, which had a 1956 date on it, was delaminating, so I stripped out the useable parts, and trashed the rest.
