  • Body / Glass: Windshield wiper drive unit

I am looking for a good 292037 Drive unit for the vacuum wipers on my 47 Champion. It is used one all 47, 48 and early 49 models. Mine is not off yet, but seems like the bearing is wore out in it.
Also looking for the splash panels which go under the clutch and brake to protect the wiring for the dimmer switch from the road splashes.
    Thanks
    Neil

I had some luck on the wiper drive unit. I got one on order from Studebaker West this morning. They have 2 more at this time if anyone needs one. Just great guys to deal with.
Still looking for the splash shields yet though.
    Thanks
    Neil

For those who may be interested, Robert Ficken of Ficken Wiper Service, west Babylon, New York, does an excellent job of rebuilding vacuum wiper motors. Mine was done several years ago, and continues to work as well as any vacuum motor ever worked.

Yes! Ficken rebuilt the one in my Rockne nearly twenty years ago.

Hi Barry. Will you be coming to St Louis? Also would you have the front license plate bracket for this 47 Champion? I think the splash guard and the license plate bracket are both unique to the 47 Champion.
Let me know. Really good to hear from you!

Yes I have read good thinks about Friken. I think my problem is the bearing in the drive unit. It is hard to move with visegrips so I think it is binding up on the shaft thorough the firewall.
