I just received my August Hemmings Classic Car in the mail and was pleased to see the reference to our Studebaker Woodie prototype on page 12...except that Hemmings is wondering what happened to the original prototype. Perhaps Bob Palma can straighten them out. As we all know, it's in the Studebaker National Museum.
Apparently a reader from California found a colour Studebaker handout photo in a September 1946 issue of LIFE Magazine. The car wasn't yet in production because of a wood shortage.
