Can anyone tell me what grease goes in a 1954 Coupe steering box, and can it be purchased locally? It has the "TL" gear box.

Thanks

It was actually a very heavy weight oil and I know that viable substitutes are out there, but what I've been using (and I know others have as well) is the grease that sold for the CV (constant velocity)joints of front wheel drive cars. Ideally you'll drain what, if anything, is left of the old fliud and then pump the box full of this CV grease. Nice thing about it is it doesn't leak out like the oil did![^]
