I put this thread on members photos and didn't know how to move it over to general discussion like one of the members suggested. I have this basket case 39 CE and it to far gone to restore so it looks like it's going to be a restomods. I originally wanted to find a four door sedan and try to build it as stock as possible but I'm not sure if it would be worth what I'm watching them bring on EBay. The only thing I can use from the original truck is part of the back of the cab and the bedsides. No frame or anything else. I found the Club Coupe Sedan in the picture locally and now I have all the parts that I need to do something with it. I have been all over the country and have never seen one at a show other than the Stude Nationals. Doing nothing with it is not an option. http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j382/mikesrodsandrestorations/image.jpg2_zpsduotmvu3.jpg (http://s1083.photobucket.com/user/mikesrodsandrestorations/media/image.jpg2_zpsduotmvu3.jpg.html)

Are you thinking of building it with the doors from the club coupe? The extra room would be nice... And I bet it would look great..

Yes. These doors are 10" longer. A little to much I think without altering the wheelbase. I think 6" longer would be right and almost undetectable at a glance. I've seen that done to brand x trucks and most people don't notice if you shorten the bed in front of fenders that same amount. That would make the bed the same as the 37 coupe express

This guy calls his truck ex sedan. Look closely, it was made from a 2dr sedan.http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j382/mikesrodsandrestorations/image.jpg1_zpsmnuo3mei.jpg (http://s1083.photobucket.com/user/mikesrodsandrestorations/media/image.jpg1_zpsmnuo3mei.jpg.html)

This truck looks very nicely proportioned. The longer door makes it look chopped. Course, the 39 CE already looks chopped and channeled from the factory.

For myself, I believe I will be very comfortable in the 38 CE stock cab, but I'm 5'-8 and not particularly long legged.

I hope you don't cut up that car. If it is in anything close to as good as it looks, it should be built as it is. That is a very rare car. I have a wrecked '40 Commander 4 dr. to trade.

How wrecked is it? Any pics? That car has no title or driveline. The driveline went into a beautifully restored 39.

You're showing the possibility of exactly what I've wanted for many years; a Coupe Express with enough cab room for a tall, long-legged driver.

What '37 President 2dr chassis would be a possibility? Doing a phantom build, one might as well start with the top-of-the-line.

Ditto!!44193 Not that I'll ever have the cash for such a build, but since dreaming mode is on... I'd love to put it on a '65 Chevy one-ton chassis I have on the property. It has a single-wheel rear and would do nicely. Think of what a stir that would make pulling into a horse show! Of course, you realize I'd then have to modify the horse trailer to look like one of those vintage aerodynamic jobs too.44194 Nice thing about dreaming is the unlimited budget you know... 44195

2 dr sedan or a coupe would work perfect.
