  • Transmission / Overdrive: 1955 DG-200 Transmission missing bolts

    I am finally finishing up my rebuild of my 1955 Commander coupe with a 224 V8. I am installing my rebuilt DG-200 trans.There are two holes in the top of trans. One in front and one in rear which are threaded for 3/8" bolts. Are these holes for lifting rings? I don't remember when I removed the trans. a couple of years ago if there were bolts in there. Thanks.

    Threaded holes in top of case were probably used by B-W during assembly, also allowing later use of this holding fixture:
