  • Transmission / Overdrive: Transmission/Steering shifter

On my 64 Cruiser the shifter at the steering wheel seems to be sloppy. Is there an ajustment for this? When it is in gear, say drive, I can move the inside arm almost to the P or L without first pulling the arm forward as if to shift. I am putting in a new transmission and think it will not get better with the 700R.

    Thanks

I think it is going to get a lot worse for a different reason, the THM has 6 or 7 Positions vs the Stude's 5.

But there is the shifting Tube inside the column that the hole for the shift lever wears out, and the 2 Housings behind the Steering Wheel that wear.
That is not to mention the the shift rods and levers some of which will not be replaced with Studebaker Parts but THM compatible ones.
