  • Rancho Red Touch-Up Paint

    Hi,
Is this paint available anywhere? I could only find the DUCO number (2192-H) through my searches. I'm in need of some for my late model '55. I dropped the glass bottle I had a little in. It's kinda hard to salvage any what with all the glass pieces. Thanks!!

      Hi,
I've done a little more research. On Bob Johnstone's web pages I found the following:

      (Supplemental Info ON Paint Colors)

this is on a supplemental bulletin 3-17-55 1955 Rancho Red

      Ditzler code 8848,
      enamel # DQE 70609
      lacquer # DAL 70609

Pima Red. 70565 has been replaced by Rancho Red, 70609, Ranch Red will go into production this week.

jdr Now the search goes on for womewone who can actually make this. Any suggestions??

Do you live near a automotive pait dealer?

They can do an exact match and mix you up a quart.

I am SURE that mixing from a color code will NOT match.

          Either call DuPont's help line
          or
Get the PPG code number and ask one of their jobber counter people to call the factory and get the formula

What Allan says. NO paint will match your specific car unless you have a paint dealer match it for you. They use a little hand held scanner/computer device now. It is held up against your car and "evaluates" the color and tells the dealer how to mix it. They can mix you as little as a pint I believe.
