ID:	1746849I recently rebuilt the 289 and flightomatic for my '64 Cruiser.
I also rebuilt the front suspension , and the power steering system w/ lines.
I saw this spacer in the bolt bin and figured I would find a home
for it eventually, but no luck.
It has black paint on it, meaning it was some sort of exterior part,
the hole dia = 3/4" the height is 7/8".
    Any Ideas?

The only spacer I have seen like this was a supercharger seal spacer, but it wouldn't have a groove in it, or paint on it. Perhaps some sort of crank snout bolt spacer?

There is a spacer between the Power Steering Ram and the Frame, I believe it goes on that mounting Bolt.
I would think there would be interference issues without it.

Exactly! That's where it came from!
I looked in the manual and didn't see it.
But that was it, thanks, StudeRich.

And here I was certain it was a muffler bearing!

Most power steering brackets I have installed or refurbished, had the mounting stud machined so the top washer seats against a built in shoulder. No additional spacer. When was a seperate spacer part of the system?

Can't think of anything with a 3/4" bolt size to fit the inside of that spacer.

                    Sorry, Studerich,
I have to retract the WINNER statement.
I tried to put it there, but it didn't fit.
I was willing to bet the farm that is where it went.
I tried installing it there last night, no threads left on the stud.

                    Unfortunately..the search goes on.

Might be the spacer under the rear driver side mount on the transmission, it is required with power steering to tilt the engine a little, just my guess been there done that.

I was thinking the same as Bob P, but what about the beveled edge and the groove ? are You sure it's actually from the car or even a Studebaker part ?

                            I remember installing that mount spacer..back and forth..left , right , left..kept it left.
But I recall removing this spacer, and putting it aside so I wouldn't forget it.
So I remembered it, just not where it goes.
Too many aluminum cans of beer it seems...
