  • Which came first, the Flowtie or StudeAire?

Recently Chevrolet announced a change in the Chevy Bowtie emblem for the new 2015 Camaro Z28. They have machined out the inside of the Bowtie emblem, make it open inside, just leaving an outside perimeter. They are serious about this, calling it the Flowtie. This lets more air in for cooling.

The first picture from Car and Driver shows how it is now functional, letting in more air.

The remainder of the pictures show how Studebaker had a factory emblem that already did that in the 60's, with a factory part number back then. Could it have been called the StudeAire emblem? Isn't it obvious which came first, from the forward thinking of Studebaker? The only difference here it is letting out hot air.

I wonder who said that owner mod on a rusty, mossy Avanti was done by Studebaker?
