I always think of that as maybe conception. I use the original retail DELIVERY date as the BIRTHdate/Birthday for vehicles (sort of like with people).

        Gary,
Do you find true joy in splitting hairs three ways?..
        Question for you....
How many grains of foundry sand does StudeBob have in that butter tub of his?
Just curious, in a perverted Studebaker kind of way[]

You sure it's foundry sand and not some loose gravel he scooped out of the gutter in front of SASCO?

I don't think that it is "splitting hairs." I didn't say that the guy is right or wrong. I just gave my opinion on the subject. Like you have never given your personal opinion on something here.

I know that's what the Salesman's Facts book up to the 2R series stated that for the trucks. They used November 15th as the beginning of labelling an unsold truck that may have been built 6 months before or more as the next year's model. The FTC ultimately clamped down on that practice, though.

                            "To each his own".....

In my opinion, the order date is the "conception" date, and the final assembly date is the "birth" date.
