  • 7-ton semitrailers for Studebaker US6x4

In 1942-45 7-ton semitrailers for Studebaker US6x4 tractor truck were built by Edwards Iron Works, W.C. Nabors Company and Gramm Motor Truck & Trailer Corp. Whether there was Edwards Iron Works their chief developer?

Edwards Iron Works was an independent local firm that did a lot of contract work for Studebaker, including slide-in pickup boxes for early Champions. http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...hlight=Edwards

Chances are it was a standard military design and was made by anyone who had the capacity to build them.

Also they built sleeper cabs and van semitrailers for Studebaker tractor trucks. Possible Edwards Iron Work was designer of 7-ton semitrailer and specification for it?

The semi-trailer was developed of Highway Trailer. In 1942 it was built by Carter (with metal sides), Edwards Iron Work built them since 1943 (with wood sides).
