  • Hole saw openings on Avanti II inner fenders, additional cooling?

I am wondering if the holes at the top of the inner fenders of an Avanti II provide any additional cooling to the engine compartment. The reason for.inquiry is to perhaps installing them to provide additional cooling to a Studebaker Avanti. The reason for my doubt is the wheel well is perhaps a high pressure area, and may not provide any cooling at all at speed.
sigpic 1963 Studebaker Avanti: LS1 motor and T-56 transmission have been moved rearward, set up as a two seat coupe with independent rear suspension. Complex solutions for nonexistant problems.

I thought they were access holes for changing spark plugs.

Mid 70's Avantis had the ventilation holes (also had the 400 engines). Don't know how effective they were or how long they kept doing it..

They should work to let the HOT Air out, they are Exit holes not Inlet. I believe Late '64 Stude. Avantis did have them, any owners of same can help us determine that.

My '64 (serial number 5400) did not have the air vent holes.
