1957 G H Power steering, Auto, Cumming,Ga

Hi Everyone, Working on a 1957 GH and I'm having a hard time figuring out how the the steering rod is attached to the SAGINAW power steering unit.

It looks kinda like a 3/16" drift pin but I can't find a diagram or part number.. Any one have a good idea? Last night I decided to use a case hardened

concrete nail but I'll ask you pro's before I go with that idea.

Any help appreciated! Thx, Ken

If you are speaking of the steering shaft up to the wheel, there is a roll pin that is in there. I had the one on my 57 Golden Hawk shear! I figured out that if you push down on the wheel, the unit engages! Drove it just enough to get it home!

Thanks, Jim
I had it down to some kind of a pin, there just not enough room for almost anything else.. I'll pick up a selection and give a try. Thanks again!

The original hollow roll pin was replaced by a solid pin, part #1547173.
