...in the selection of five advertising jingles in the Historic Vehicle Association blog.

Most of us have seen and heard that one, but it is nice to see it included in such an assortment.

Even though I've got Studebaker blood coursing through my veins (and arteries), you just can't beat Dinah Shore belting out, "See the U.S.A. in Your Chevrolet" in the 1950s. :) I can't imagine that ever being topped. BP

That dealership they used in the ad was certainly a showcase. Anyone know where it was?

I listened to all of those this afternoon. It is interesting that Studebaker is the only non GM product in the group.

I have to agree with Bob wholeheartedly on his choice. Dinah sold a boatload of cars with that jingle, her charm, looks & that voice, wow! An American icon if there ever was one.

I love so many of them, especially Dinah Shore's. My favorite Studebaker song is the Wagonaire tune- "You never seen anythiing to compare, with the brand new Lark Daytona Wagonaire!"

I noticed that the sedan used in the Stude commercial has mismatched paint on the lower, dark color. Made me think of the Lark that Zsa Zsa was selling with the faulty door latch. Oops!

Here's a different one from 1956. http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?54003-Nice-1956-Commercial-(link)&highlight=1956+commercial

And Dinah Shore did a great selling job for Chevrolet, and that 'See the USA in your Chevrolet' was used well into the 1970's, as I recall: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?68221-Where-is-Dinah-Shore-When-We-Need-Her&highlight=dinah

Yes, tough getting by giant GM.
