  • How do I....Brakes

    Ike has three wheels that don't turn. What's the best way to remove frozen brake drums. I suspect I remove the wheels, back off the adjusters and beat on the drums with a dead blow hammer.

    I know, rear wheels need a puller. So do I.

    That's pretty much it. Don't pry on anything, those hubs bend easy.

      Yeah - back off the adjusters all the way. But temper your efforts with the hammer. Cast iron won't tolerate too much persuasion without tweaking. Then you're in for some real expense.[xx(]

        Hint: remove the bolts from the wheel cylinders, then they'll flop around enough to release the shoes.
