  • 2006 Avanti Coupe

Pleased to report I purchased the 2nd 2006 Avanti Coupe in the United States on December 28, 2014. Its on a Mustang chassis and is a hoot to drive. The exhaust is tuned to sound like a big boy although its a sporty six banger. Best Christmas present short of the New 1987 Kelly Coupe I purchased the day after christmas in 1987. I love Christmas. Happy New Year to all

John, you have one nice car!

John had his new car at the Avanti House open house a couple months ago and those in attendance got to see it.

              I want your Avanti!

I was under the impression that there was only one six cylinder Avanti. I guess that was wrong. I am thinking of the weird (to me) color one in the mid-west that the owner has had for sale for years.

I also purchased a new 1987 Avanti coupe.

Looks nice John. Not to ruffle any feathers here, but it's still just a Mustang to this Old Fart. RIP Mr. Kelly.

And a '63 Avanti is "just" a Lark, right?

Original Mustangs were essentially re-bodied Falcons, original Barracudas were Valiants with an Avanti style rear glass grafted on as well as Avanti type recurved rear side glass. I don't remember Ford or Mopar guys criticizing that...if any did, they were few.

It sure as hell is closer to an Avanti than that Indian disaster they have labeled an Avanti. No offense taken on Mustang remark. Its a real hoot to drive.
