I don't have a link to the thread/topic, but I believe that you posted this when I asked about a pin back button that I was given (thanks again for your information).
I think that it is good that you made a separate topic/thread about these as the answer to my question probably got lost to most.

Excellent collection. Was the "Win A Scotsman" button from the 1958 Mile-A-Thon contest? My Dad was a second place winner of that contest, so I try to keep up with the memorabilia from the contest but did not know about a button.

Indeed it was Bill. What did he win for coming in 2nd?

He won a 1958 Scotsman 4 door sedan and another one that was presented to the IOOF home for the elderly. I was fortunate enough to drive the scotsman my senior year of high school and to college. even the sales order that came with the car in the terms column lists as GRATIS.

Thanks Richard for postings your button collection photo!
Really enjoyed looking at them, especially the "Warning, look both ways, this town is full of Studebakers" and the Win a Scotsman, ask me how buttons. They appeal to me and a vision I formed in my head of nothing but Studebakers whizzing down the street coming from both ways. Great stuff!
And Bill, yes please, as Richard asked, please post a photo of the Scotsman your dad won if you find one. Would love to se a "gratis" Studebaker.

Wow, that was an economy model. The only accessories the Twin Traction and overdrive. Not even a Climatizer. Not real flashy but dependable! But when it's FREE.....who cares?

Thank you for the photos!
How long did your family keep the Studebaker?

The 'Ha-Dees' recirculating heater & defroster was standard. Was a Climatizer an optional upgrade for a Scotsman?

We still have the Scotsman. My dad who will be 87 on Tuesday wanted to fix some rust in the floor and fenders ended up disassembling most of it a couple of years ago. He had the engine rebuilt last year and is now working on the rust.666916669266693

Amazing, believe that is 59 years of ownership. Good luck with the restoration. Re the pin I am attaching below a close up. It is 3" in diameter. I am sure these pins are scarce but what makes them a bit more hard to find is that the Studebaker name does not appear on them. While most Studebaker folks might recognize it the average person upon finding it would have no idea of the reference. Therefore antique collectors etc would not list them as Studebaker when selling. By the way I am fairly certain I have a showroom banner for the Scotsman. Will post a photo if/when I find it.

Wow a "Loaded" Scotsman 4 door! Overdrive and Twin Traction! AND they GAVE it away!

Yes they did come with a Standard Hades? Box Heater, but I have seen PO's with the Climitizer Heating and Defrost System replacing it and a Scotsman or Two with the option.

Those are the accessories I'd pick. I have a friend who owns a Scotsman and it still looks terrific.
