I'm seeing so many different shock #'s being offered out for a 64 Hawk I'm not sure which way to go and be the closest to original fit for the car. Does anyone know the extended and compressed dimensions they need to be to not cause damage. Thanks guys

Not needed, just contact a Studebaker Vendor at: http://studebakervendors.com and order the '57 to '66 Front Shocks, Gabriel Classic Gas.
These are the closest to the OEM Hydraulic Gabriels available today, and are an exact fit.
