Yep, a few years and 40K later and yours might look like this.
The car you bought is also Jewel Beige by the factory.

'Good on ya', Jeff; all the best. Few projects are as worthy as a supercharged Hawk of any variety. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

I was thinking about 5 years and $50,000. And maybe a few thousand more for a trailer

Looks like you're starting with a solid body...that means a lot! Exterior chrome and a correct interior will be pricey, but 20K will go a long way in bringing this PH back if you can do the 'wrenching/painting' yourself....Good luck with this highly interesting project!

Congratulations, Jeff. You are a true glutton for punishment. I have a similar car that I will be selling posted up on the Studebakersite.

Is it safe to assume that the vehicle towing the trailer is your wife's Avanti?

I can have MY red hawk there just finishing up some much needed work - rear end ( carrier bearing), power steering, freeze plugs, rear leafs.

on the PH, the previous owner had started the rebuild about 4 years ago. everything is apart, much either refurbished or at least cleaned up well. a little bit of rust repair needed and then the process of putting it back together. Maybe the april picnic in 3 years.

no Brent, not Paula's Avanti towing - though I did use the champ to pick up the small parts today.

Brian, I checked out all the pix of your restoration - it looks like you're doing a great job! Have you done all the paint yourself? they've made that almost impossible for us to do in California. How long have you been working on this car?

Barry, this is to make up for that 57 GH you picked up from me for Richard 10 years ago. my kids were young and I didn't have much garage space then. hopefully I've got the patience to do this one justice.

Jeff if you want to make others droll a little show them a picture of the NOS chrome that came with the car.
