  • NOS Studebaker short blocks available 1938- 1952 all models Sixes and V-8s

I thought some might enjoy this. A flyer from the parts and accessory division showing availability of short blocks and the application of each. Note this flyer is dated Febrary 26, 1952 so I am thinking maybe they have sold out? Note in image #2 I have included the prices in 1952 dollars. For anyone interested I have this original flyer and some other items available on ebay.

I wonder if my dad paid that much for our first family car (a '39 Plymouth coupe) after WWII.
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

I wish! It would be nice if they had the head as well! Ah, dream on I suppose... I'll bet a 245 would be a touch more than two-hundred-fifty dollars! All the same, a fresh engine might have a bit more oomph than my current one. Of course then I'd have to take the tranny to Redwood City to be rebuilt...

          Richard (and anyone else),

In the flyer you have for 53-54 bumper and grille guards...

They state and show the vertical "fog light" bumper guards being available without the fog light in them. Looks like a blank metal plate filling the opening??? Anyone ever seen this arrangement? Odd.

Those prices may sound appealingly cheap enough now, but they were one hefty chunk o' change at 1952 wages.

Yes, they were available with blank plates where the bulb would have been. I have had them in the past..

I know there are differing opinions on the fog light esthetics, but the middle bumper guard obscures the distinctive and attractive split grill. Same was on the bullet noses...why do that?? Just my two cents worth...

It's been 5 years, but Salt 2 Salt got a new Champion 6 for the TurboStude. Greg has converted that engine to propane/turbo for his new 3 wheeled project.
