I found this Speedster 3 or 4 years ago in the woods near Marietta, Ga.
I located the owner at that time and tried to buy it. We never agreed on a price and I went on my way. Today, I revisited the site. It has been removed from the woods and is in a parking area behind a closed auto repair facility.
I am going to try to get in touch with the owner again to see if we can come to an agreement.

It's missing the hood, front and rear bumpers, both tail lights, left parking light housing, engine and transmission and both vent window assys.

Sounds like someone has been using that gem for parts. Good luck. I hope you can get it and save if from further deterioration.

I looked all over it but never found a VIN number.

North, south, east or west of The Big Chicken? I knew of one west about 35 years ago, but lost track of it. Can't remember but I think it was black and white. He had a few hawks as well and Daimler SP250.

Roscomacaw, do you remember the guy?

Don't that just frost you when you find a rare car like this and the guy that owns it wont sell because he's going to restore that some day and he's already 86 yrs old.

Not to mention it probably already rotten....
I've seen a hundred in that condition that the owner wouldn't part with.... SAD

My '55 Speedster is just now beginning to be recognized at car shows as a rare classic. If you can, Ihope that you can save and restore this piece of automobile history. Good Luck!
