That must be a very early Avanti II, is that 1966 or 1967? It has no side marker lights, and still has all of the blacked out "S" emblems everywhere! Nice looking car. You have to wonder why he would want to lose all that money restoring it though, as we all know, it is NOT recoverable![:0]

Too bad he did not go with a lighter color on all of the dash and upper surfaces of the interior, but on the other hand it IS different! I have never seen one done in BLACK.

Does it still have the Powershift?

It is a 1967, and does have the Powershift. He's selling a few cars because he's expanding his business and needs the warehouse space and does not have time for his cars anyway.

If that's the car I thinking of (and I think it is), get some shots of the frame and suspension. Good thing the body was fiberglass.

Yes, I'd love to know too. I owned the car about 3 years ago and am curious about his comments too. I'll ask Ray about it, if it has frame or suspension issues, I won't buy it back, but I thought Ray went through the suspension for the owner too. I know the frame had surface rust from storage, but I'll ask if Ray found more.

The car I'm thinking of wasn't stored in a dry environment and had serious rust problems... nearly every bolt during disassembly had to be drilled out or was twisted off.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of, ask him for the pictures he took. The one I'm thinking of (I'm thinking it had a big crunched body panel that he repaired) it had more than surface rust... darn near every bolt snapped off during disassembly. It may have gotten a different frame, but I'm only guessing on that.
