  • Commander 6 engine I.D. question and give away

Have a Commander 6 engine that was supposedly rebuilt 35+years ago.I am sure it needs to be freshened to be usefull.
I want it gone and it's free for anyone who will come and get it.I removed the head for some reason years ago but did spray it down with oil.
Intake and exhaust manifolds are there with heavy brazing done to them as they were cracked.
Did I mention it was free?
Bring help to load as it is on a pallet and will need to be dragged out.I do have a engine hoist.Bad back, cant do much to help.
I did just look at the serial number and it is
    4R18205.
Is it a truck engine or passenger car and what year

    4R is definitely a Truck. 4R-59,001 and on, = a 1954 "245" 3R Truck Engine, a rare beast!

With the Nov. TW being the cover story on the 54 trucks it should find a home with out much trouble.

Engine found a new home.Local Studebaker enthusiasts Dean and Bruce Elstad just hauled it away.
On it's way to a new life!
