  • Among my souvenirs #2 c1910 letter opener

Some of the neatest collectibles are the dealer give-aways. This is one of the earliest and neatest. It is a letter opener showing a Studebaker-Garford type touring car. It would date to c1907-11. It is approx. 9" long and has the car and engraving on both sides. Very functional as I use it all the time. Have seen only one other like it. Note Lord Motor Car Co. Los Angeles.

That is a very interesting article and I appreciate your posting of this type of item.

For decades, I used this type of letter opener, one that Cathy got from the first college that she attended. Very recently, I went modern with a new style of letter opener. It looks like a whale's head with a sharp blade in the mouth. You just insert the "lower jaw" into the letter and slide it across the letter. It works very well.

        Very cool Richard!
Gary, sounds like one of the 'safe' kind. Still sounds cool though.

That is super cool. Can't be too many of these "in the wild" these days!

Neat. But you need to rotate those tires (pic #1) a little more often!
