  • brake lines

I am going to put new brake lines on my car ( 1965 Commander) . My question is what diameter is the line and what thread is the fittings. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

I have never worked on a '65, but the vast majority of postwar Studebakers use 3/16 brake lines and, if memory serves, 3/8-24 fittings. I heartily recommend Cunifer brake lines for the rust belt.

Check with both www.inlinetube.com, and www.classictube.com both have pre-bent steel lines, I'm thinking (didn't look it up) but inline tube has them in stainless steel for under $200 bucks. I used them on my Avanti. IF they don't have your vehicle, contact them, they are willing to use yours as a pattern, and make them up.

I can make up nice fresh rubber hose!

The same diameter that's currently on the car.
Which is the same as "most" all domestic and foreign cars.
