The Volcano Tour

Well, a lot of us in Portland (Oregon) did not know there were so many extinct volcanoes in this area. Fortunately our long time club member Bob Williams decided to educate us with a tour of 5 of the 20 here in the greater Portland area. So my wife, Jo Anne, and I along with a couple of friends jumped in the '50 Commander and went along. Nine Studebakers showed up at our rally point and we moved out in caravan for the tour. It was a beautiful day and we paraded our cars around Portland. It was fun going places we had been to before never knowing we were on an extinct volcano. We also went to some local attractions we had never been to before. It turned out to be an extremely fun, interesting and educational day. We even learned of Bob's connection to a park and monument atop one of the volcanoes. (See photos).

What a time you must have had. Driving Studebakers to historical points of interest. That is my idea of an ideal excursion.
