Not very many of those '62 2 Door Sedans were built with a V8.

I actually ordered this car through the dealer. If I remember right the V8 was a 259.

That $1800 must have been at a good discount or involved a trade. The base price of a 1962 Deluxe two door sedan with V8 was $2070. Then there would be the adders for shipping and overdirive. It is also hard to believe that you did not even order a heater (Climatizer) or possibly a radio.

I suspect it has a heater, being sold new in Indiana, but I am quite sure I do see at least two other options on that car in the photo. This car appears to have the stainless front and rear window trim and an RH sunvisor. No doubt it had the 'Convenience & Appearance Kit' or whatever that package reserved for Deluxe models was called.

Yes, Gary, I had a trade, a 1959 DKW that had issues. The Studebaker dealer at that time sold DKW's and I believe Mercedes also. Heater, yes, Radio, no. Why I had a DKW is a whole different story, but sometimes you just need a ride, even if it can't keep up with own shadow.
