Anyone out there in "fender door vent" land willing to part with a pair of rusty ol fender sections ?
I need the vent doors and 3" or 4" of good sheet metal around each vent door. 2 required.

Thanks

Mike

P.s. - If the earlier year body vent doors are the sams size, yes they will work also.
Thanks

Classic Enterprises offers that complete vent section in new metal. Might be worth it to save on body work. Good luck.

I suspect it will be difficult to find just the sections you want as most fenders that have been replaced are due to that very rust you are attempting to replace.
I used the Classic Enterprise patches on both sides of my '53 Coupe and, while not cheap, well worth the quality and savings in labor. I also used the rear edge repair patches.
You will still need to supply your vent doors.

About to trash that section from the drivers side of a 54. There's a thin (rust hole) section near the upper left of the inside (upper right of the outside)shot but there appears to be a decent amount metal around most of it.

Cost - USPS flat rate box cost to ship whatever size you want. I'll cut it to size.

I have a pair of '55 sedan fenders with (not bad) vents, no doors, just the openings and hinges. I could get 4 inches around each, but there would be some surface rust, inside and out. No rust through (I dont' think) . Postage as needed from 43055.

I have one nice vent door. It's yours if you can use it:

Wow...I didn't realize this was going to be a such a task.

Thanks for the offers so far guys, but I'd like to come up with two complete sides, clean (light rust is fine !) ready to go (though your door looks inviting Dave !!).
I'll keep looking.

Besides the doors , you may need some hardware and springs.
Most vendors inventory their parts by part number.

I wen't thru many nights trying to decide what to do. I collected (most all) all the required parts for my task at hand.
For many reasons I abandoned the vent doors and did this -

The fender vent doors WERE going to be hood vents controllable from the inside of the car. They were going to be mounted at the back of the hood.
BUT...the width of the wiper arm motor and the "stuff" that makes up the vents interior, that all put the vent doors way too far apart. They would have worked fine for what I wanted to do, but looked horrible.
So...the 55 hood was sacrificed and used as a cowl scoop.
