So,

I was enjoying a beautiful Saturday afternoon and I went inside to check my email, whereupon I discovered a Reported Post email about the Looking for Nimesh thread, accompanied by some choice commentary by someone who objected to its presence on the board.

I had no idea what it was about but I took a look at it. There was a lot of angry talk about a vendor or two and why folks should be able to air their grievances with a vendor on this site and how wrong headed anyone was that wouldn't allow that; and then there was some angry back and forth between a couple of members. Bottom line, the thread went south almost immediately. The trouble? Folks responded to it and fueled it and made it worse when they should have been able to see immediately that it violated the forum rules and should have ignored it completely instead of throwing fuel on the fire.

I deleted the entire thread. Why? Because when every single one of us registers for permission to use this forum we all agree that we will abide by the forum rules. We all had to read them and click the button that said that we agreed with the rules. So, if there are those of you who didn't bother to read the rules and you're upset now that all of your hard work slaving away at a keyboard is gone, it's not on us, the moderators, or the other users of the forum that disagreed with you; it's on you.

Here are the rules. I've bolded and underlined some things for the benefit of those who apparently have never bothered to read them. Please read them again and help us enforce them:

Forum Rules

I have read, and agree to abide by the Studebaker Drivers Club Forum rules.

If you have a problem with a vendor, work it out with the vendor off the forum. If you have a problem with the forum rules, don't carp at the administrator or the mods, we don't have the power to alter the rules; write to the club president and the committee members responsible for formulating and publishing the rules that are posted here. Maybe if enough of you do that, they'll be wiling to provide you a little more leeway to voice your rants about vendors here. Until such time, it's our duty to remove posts such as the one in question regardless of our own opinions on the matter.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.
