  • Electrical: negative ground tach

can a negative ground tach be hooked up to a positive ground

  • #2
I would think it would have to be due with whether or not there are Diodes or circuit boards inside with same.
Usually if it is a self contained unit with no sender, it IS quite Electronic requiring the correct polarity.

I am not sure, but I do know that they all are Cylinder sensitive, made for only 1, or to switch to 4, 6 or 8.

I have a 6V Stewart Warner that picks up from the coil. Like Rich said there is a diode in there and my auto electric guy is trying to convert it to pos ground. He's been busy. Would have liked to have it operational for the PSMCDRS. Maybe next year.
