  • Wheels / Tires: Wheel/Rim compatibility

Are the wheels/rims between a 63 Lark and a 57 Hawk compatible? I mainly need to know if the bolt circle is the same and if I can swap between cars for moving them around.

    Thanks

Yes. The Hawk rims are wider than the Lark, but you can swap them around to roll cars.

If your Lark has disc brakes the Hawk wheels probably wont clear the caliper. Wheels for disc brake cars had a different center section (all 63 & on had that section in their wheels).

I always thought 63,64 had both style wheels, and maybe 65,66 might have only used disc brake type wheels

The 1963 disk brake wheel had a groove (bulge?) in it to clear the calipers.
You could not use regular 1963 wheels on disk brake cars.
They fixed that on 1964-up cars so the wheel on both were the same.
You can use the 1964 wheels on 1963 disk brake cars.

While the '63 Drum Brake Wheels do barely clear the Caliper tubes and many of these '63 "Budd Wheels" were used with Discs before the ugly Kelsey Hayes, double hump wheels came out on '64's.

The '57 Wheels as Warren said, DO NOT. You get about a 1/4 turn and that is IT, locked solid!

All '51 to '66 Studes. have the same 5 on 4 1/2 Inch Bolt pattern, like Ford and Chrysler Products, THAT will not be a problem.
