  • Question on 6 volt 1955 E38 truck, gas sender

    I have a question on a 6 volt 1955 E38 two ton truck. Can someone give me the gas sender resistance empty and full. I don't have a shop manual.

    I saw the post on 1953 car gauges being 0 ohms full, 90 empty, but have no idea if these are the same.

    Trying to help a friend here, he desires to keep his original 6 volt gages.
    sigpic 1963 Studebaker Avanti: LS1 motor and T-56 transmission have been moved rearward, set up as a two seat coupe with independent rear suspension. Complex solutions for nonexistant problems.

    0 empty, 98 full. But on the 12v vehicles, it's rather the opposite direction: 240 empty, 33 ohms full.
