  • Hawk GTs Built in Hamilton?

According to this ad some Hawk GTs were built in Hamilton. Is that true?

Sure most models were also built in Hamilton Ontario Canada, certainly Larks and Hawks. Some years, even Trucks were built there and until 1956 Studebakers were assembled in Los Angeles, CA Vernon Plant.

Yes. I owned one. A 63. The wheel covers and air filter are very slightly different than US production cars to keep within Canadian law at the time. Otherwise they were identical

Here's an excellent example of a '63 that was built in Hamilton, one of 360 made there that year: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...ghlight=nelson

However there were no 1964 GT Hawks built in Hamilton.

My brother's 63 R2 was a Hamilton car, 1 of only around 20 (R2s, that is) built there, I believe he once told me.

There were 18 R2 '63 G.T. Hawks assembled in Hamilton, and 20 engines with the 'JTSC' prefix. So far, there are four Hamilton R2's accounted for.
