Really liking what I see Anne,I'm thinking something looks a bit unusual about the rear body panel trim,is their more trim than should be from factory ? beautiful car, this was Bob's car ? is it another rust free car He seems too have sold ?

its is one of Bobs. The trim under the trunk lid I thought went on a Gt Hawk. But there were these holes and those pieces lined up with them so on they went.
It has been a real puzzle to put back together. We don't have a body book so its hunt and find. We have never taken apart a car as far as this one was taken apart . Its coming along though. Gonna put three point seat belts front and rear also.

Looks nice Anne! If you are talking about the ribbed panel, I think the Cruiser is the only model that has it.

I once owned a 63 Cruiser, and will always have a soft spot in my heart for them. Looks like that one is coming along very well, and is gonna be beautiful when finished. I am envious.

Lookin' good! Man, I'm drooling over that pretty dash you've got just idly laying there... I need a new dash so bad for my car. Where'd you find that one?

That car is a LOT prettier than the one I had ! I'll include the only two pics I took of it. We never did "fix it up", and when I finally decided to sell it, had NO takers at all in Alabama or Tennessee. Sure was a loaded, neat old car though. I'm proud for ya' that you're getting it so nice and back on the road.

The "new dash" is a cap that's from SI. I sent along the ash tray and right end piece so they could spray them to match the main piece. BTW, every piece of exterior stainless on this thing is NOS.

Edit to add... Headliner is NOS as is the door panels. My "inside helpers" were unable to find Y9 door panels, so Y6 had to suffice (in blue, of course) and I actually think they're prettier than the Y9 pieces. The seats were redone with cloth and vinyl that I dug up from the bins at SASCO in '07. Carpets by Historic.
I'm just tickled to see it being finished rather than languishing here.

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Shameless plug.... I have two more NOS sets of '63 Y-body door panels (left and right, front and rear) I'd sell. One set is blue and one set is brown. Both sets are for the Y6 trim level. Still in original boxes. Of course, these would fit any '63 Y-body - regardless of the trim level. And these are much more showy than the basic panels that so many Studes seem to wear anymore. PM me for price and shipping.
And while I'm at it, I have a pair of NOS GT Hawk door windows (clear), all mounted in channels and stainless framework. Freeakin' NOS, thank you. They need a home!

Are the panels the ones with the carpet on them?
