  • Body / Glass: 1957 Silver Hawk Fins

After what seems like forever I am ready to paint the Hawk. I still have two issues that I know about now.

    1. Broken driver's side window glass. I ordered a new glass online but realize I don't know how replace the glass. Can I do this or do I pay a glass person? Paying someone else cuts into my renovation money and I would rather not.

Second: When I bought the car the chrome and fins were off and still are. My question is where the fins attach. Where do I put bolts to hold the fin on and where do I use the chrome fin strip molding? Some holes are a little larger than others but which is which if that even matters.

It now starts, runs well, doesn't smoke, and stops. What more can I ask?

    thanks,
    Steven

Steven, do the glass yourself; not a hard job. As far as the hawk fins are concerned, go to: http://www.raylinrestorations.com

Then click on the" technical pages" tab, then go to the link called "1956-61 Hawk fin installation". I think that will show you what you need to know.
    Good luck,
